Since our inaugural journeys to Nepal and Thailand in 1982, Lotus Tours has appealed to the discriminating traveler in pursuit of a once in a lifetime adventure. Lotus Tours, the international motorcycle touring company, offers 4 to 15 day tours to unique and unusual destinations, for people who are interested in seeing the world from a different perspective.
During the past few years, we have been producing two different types of tours: Motorcycle Vacations – civilized street tours featuring the best riding around the world combining cuisine and some great hotel accommodations; and Motorcycle Expeditions - rugged journeys with difficult off-road riding conditions with limited amenities in remote, exotic parts of the world. Either way, our motorcycle tours are exciting and memorable.
Our Motorcycle Vacations include a historical and cultural vacation tour of Turkey on BMW GSs, in May 2003, which take us to the center of civilization where Asia and Europe meet! Ride a Ducati on a leisurely tour through the wine region of Italy in Tuscany. No matter how you look at it, the Cote d’Azur & Provence of France is one of our most romantic tours, staying in historical castles and chateaux after a leisurely day riding on your Ducati or BMW in late September. Corsica & Sardinia offer some of the best riding in the world. Join us in May or October 2003 for roads that you will never forget! We are touring New Zealand for New Years, Italy & Greece in April 2003 and Eastern Europe in May 2003. Another special and new tour for 2003 is our trip to Romania & Bulgaria.
Our Motorcycle Expeditions include technically challenging tours beginning in Ulaanbaatar through the Gobi Desert in Mongolia on BMW F650GS's, which exposes riders to the thriving ancient culture of Genghis Khan. Consider Lhasa Tibet and Kathmandu Nepal, on 500cc Royal Enfield Bullets, spending the night in a Mt. Everest base camp, with trips scheduled in April and May 2003! After a stunning scouting trip in 2001 of The Great Wall of China, we are touring this colorful and scenic country in August. Experience the outback surroundings from Survivor II on our Cape York Dirt Bike tour exploring Northern Australia throughout the winter riding season of 2002-2003. Ride Honda XR600's on costal sand dunes and rainforest mountain trails in the Andes Mountains to Machu Picchu in Peru. Experience is a prerequisite for these rigorous trips. You might consider joining us for a weekend at the Ride-In-Ranch Dirt Bike Clinics in southern California to prepare for these outstanding adventures!
Our USA Great Escape Vacations are custom vacations and getaways that include riding the twisties of The Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee, The Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Arizona, The Sierra Nevada Range of California and The Green Mountains of Vermont. Our USA fleet consists of Honda's, Kawasaki's, and BMW's with some Ducati's in selected regions. Or, think Alaska in August 2003 for an 8-day tour of the Yukon.
Lotus Blossoms is a network of women motorcycle riders, who are generally well-educated and well-traveled, sharing an avid interest in motorcycling and building their riding skills; an enthusiasm for promoting women in motorcycling; and a thirst for the learning and adventure of touring the world. We plan 2 Lotus Blossoms tours in 2003. Greece in April, and Mexico in October.
